Background to my research topic - VAR in Football

My overall idea for this blog-

My research topic was on the subject of VAR in Football and to look at the pros and cons of its use.

The purpose of my research topic was to allow people to read the blog and listen to the podcast and video to then form their own opinions of VAR. VAR in football has caused so many different talking points and controversy’s, by choosing this topic I want to be the place people can go to develop their opinions on these matters and gain a better insight.

The main points I researched were the basics of VAR and how it is used, I also researched why it got introduced to football and what it is meant to have aided referees with. By researching this it will allow readers to have quick easy access to information on VAR and allow them to quickly form basic opinions, allowing them to further read and listen to help add perspective.

The primary and secondary readership and listeners for this project were identified as football fans. Mainly men as they make up the majority of footballs fan base, but the blog is very gender neutral meaning the blog is aimed at anyone who has an interest in football. The blog can also be aimed at fans which VAR might be coming to their league, this will allow them to gain a better idea of how VAR could improve the league refereeing but also makes people aware of the scandals and flaws that have been found out by others.
