What have I gained by doing this blog?

I have developed greatly throughout this module. My first impressions were that it wasn’t going to be my thing and I would struggle to get to grips with everything going on. Despite this, I found that it was actually really enjoyable and found myself wanting to work on my blog and the tasks related as I felt quite passionate about what I was doing. This allowed the module to feel quite laid back and flowed well alongside my other modules. This was the easiest class to come to and enjoy because it captured my interest.
My comments on the class blog on my own performance on my pitch were that I wasn’t nervous, despite coming across in that way. This comment contradicted my feedback but allowed me to have further knowledge on how to develop. I learned a lot from my pitch when I received feedback on my pace. I thought I wasn’t nervous because I was confident in my pitch but after the feedback and self-reflection I released I was doubting myself and the information/ ideas I had, meaning I came across nervous and slightly rushed. This feedback and insight will allow me to better my end presentation talk and hopefully have more confidence in my ability and information.
The feedback given to me on my mock blog helped me as it allowed me to gage what kind of professional, sleek look to my blog and gain a good second opinion on this. This further allowed me to experiment with many different looks for my real blog and get to grips with different software’s.
By studying this module, I have developed many different skills from presenting, content creation, interview knowledge and time management! This module has really helped me develop as a person and has really enhanced my confidence. By creating my own blog I’ve really allowed myself to trial and error many different ways of making a website and experimenting with many different tools I didn’t know how to use before. The video allowed me to get creative and use my previous iMovie skills to create a compilation type video, again developing my experience within this sector. The podcast really pushed my boundaries, having to take control and plan out an interview with a friend. A lot of composure and persistence was needed and am proud I was able to piece it together.
In hindsight I wish I had asked my peers around me what they were doing to start with, this would allowed me to get a better idea of what was expected and to not overthink what I was doing in case it was wrong. In the long run it doesn’t matter too much but it would have been a good boost at the start. Again this is something I have learned and will take into my future classes and projects.
